As an undergraduate student, I loved a class in web development. I loved it so much, I started a career as a web developer, which later morphed into my PhD studies. The challenge was figuring out how to organize information that accomplishes two purposes: to display what you consider most important and to present information that users find most important. This balancing act required both an objective view of reality and a subjective estimation of value.
