When it comes to Joe Biden, I respect his long career in public service and his dedication to the country. His ideals and policies sit fine with me, but his presidency was disapointing for many people. One of my biggest frustrations was how out of touch he seemed at times with everyday Americans. I know he’s compassionate, but policies that focus on big government solutions, increased spending, and heavy regulations haven’t helped anyone. His foreign policies did not help the US position. He was perceived as weak and reactive, not pro-active. Especially dealing with Russia. But watching him really made me feel like he was part of the glass-ceiling and bureaucracy. Americans like the illusion of a direct democracy, not the elite being nurtured to create more elite. In that sense, he fell close to Hillary Clinton, and people hated the elite image she gave...despite how brilliant she is.
