Based on my research and understanding, I believe we do not have free will. Our actions are the product of a set of circumstances, which are inevitable given other circumstances. This trail of responsibility goes back beyond our control, to a point where we cannot decide, prevent, or change them. Despite this, we experience the sensation of agency over our own choices. This is a complex and intensely debated topic, and my views are detailed further in a paper I have published.
